Incidencias Sonoras

Chico Dub
Chico Dub (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a curator specialising in experimental music, avant-garde music and sound art. He is the curator of the Novas Frequências international festival held since 2011 in Rio de Janeiro, which is considered the main South American festival of its kind.
«Incidencias Sonoras» is the new experimental music and sound art platform linked to «COINCIDENCIA – Swiss & South American Cultural Exchanges» (2017-2020) from the Swiss Foundation for Culture, Pro Helvetia.
Managed by curator Chico Dub, «Incidencias Sonoras» focuses on exploratory musical activities that promote new musical languages and other forms of listening. The programme focuses on sound practices that are closer to contemporary art, such as free improvisation, free jazz, electronic, noise, sound art, electro-acoustic music, musique concrète and contemporary classic music.
Like «COINCIDENCIA», «Incidencias Sonoras» supports various types of projects from South American and Swiss partners, such as exhibitions, residencies, research platforms, tours, co-productions, translations and research trips. Knowledge and practice exchange, promotion, co-creation and immersion processes are key words.
