A musician from Basel with a wide range of influences, Jennifer Perez, aka La Nefera, has always preserved much of her Dominican roots and brings to her musical production a mix of hip-hop, electronic, and Latin sounds. Along with her co-band leader Victor Hege, she will participate in a residency in Colombia to collaborate with local artists, drawing from their previous connections with multi-instrumentalist Sebastián Rozo [CO], a member Frente Cumbiero band. The duo also intends to present their recent work in the country.

Jennifer Perez [DO/CH], aka La Nefera, is a Swiss musician with Dominican roots. Her stage name is derived from Nefertiti, the Egyptian queen, and it means “the beautiful has come”. In her music, the rhythms of her Latin American culture of origin merge with hip-hop and electronic sounds. As frontwoman and a member of various band formations (La Nefera, Kallemi, and Error 404), she has performed on national and international stages. She was awarded the 2020 music promotion award from Canton Basel. In addition to her music, La Nefera is strongly committed to social issues, especially networking and the empowerment of women.

Victor Hege [FR/CH] is a musician, producer and composer. He grew up in a musician family with five siblings in Nîmes, South France, and was five years-old when he started to learn music. In 2010, he moved to Basel, in Switzerland, to study at the Music University in Basel in the class of David LeClair. While studying, Victor gained a lot of different experiences and contact in the classical as in the jazz scene. He plays in the projects: Error 404 Band Not Found, La Nefera, Belinda Bones, Nicole Johänntgen « Henry », Sacha Love, Les Mémoires d’Hélènes, Finger, Cirque de Loin, Kugawana Project, Belinda, and in Victor Hege 4tet.
