Duration
Up to 3 months
Location
Switzerland, South America
The next call will open in January 2024
In Pro Helvetia’s program, cultural practitioners from Switzerland (meaning either a Swiss citizen or a permanent resident in Switzerland) may apply for residencies in South America. Likewise, cultural practitioners from South America can apply for projects in Switzerland. Candidates need to have a convincing track record that shows artistic activity within the region from which they’re applying.
Residencies have a maximum duration of three months. Pro Helvetia provides accommodation, daily allowances, professional guidance, travel expenses, a contribution towards production and material costs (on request), and a workplace (on request).
The programme is open to artists and cultural practitioners working in the fields of visual arts, design and interactive media, music, literature and performing arts, as well as arts practitioners with a transdisciplinary focus.
Applications may be submitted once a year, via myprohelvetia and must be written in English – on the page, one must choose the option Residencies of the Liaison Offices.
Applicants for the 2024 programme will be notified about the outcome by mid-June 2023. And the call for the 2025 program will open in January 2024.
