Choreographer Christoph Leuenberger’s Residency in Montevideo

«Breath Portraits» is a long-term project of investigation in which the Swiss choreographer and dancer Chris Leuenberger in a series of residencies, workshops and public performances explores his choreographic practice in relation to breathing. The residency takes place at the facilities and with the support of: Casa Almargen, Instituto de Formación y Educación Social (IFES), Instituto Nacional de Artes Escénicas (INAE) and the space GEN.

TOUCH ISOLATION from Chris Leuenberger on Vimeo.

|| TOUCH ISOLATION || is a performance project which consists of a series of laboratories with public presentations.
In this project, which evolved from the itinerant residency Vehículo SUR (2018), the dancer and theater maker Marcos Ramírez Harriague aims to create a performance format, both flexible and itinerant, in order to reflect on contemporary masculinities and their socio-political context and conditioning.
In November and December 2018 Leuenberger and Harriague started developing material on masculinities and touch in the frame of a residency in Montevideo funded by “COINCIDENCIA” Swiss – South American cultural exchanges of the Swiss cultural foundation Pro Helvetia.
The residency had the local support of GEN Centro de Artes y Ciencias, Casa Almargen – apuesta artístico terapéutica, IFES – Instituto de Formación de Educación Social and of INAE – Instituto Nacional de Artes Escénicas. It culminated in a public presentation and informal discussion with the audience at INAE in Montevideo on December 7, 2018.
