«One One One» and «Sing the positions» – Cie Ioannis Mandafounis

Cie Ioannis Mandafounis (Geneva) «One One One» and «Sing the positions» at Festival Panorama – edition 25+1

With its first edition in 1992, Festival Panorama proposed to occupy the city of Rio de Janeiro with dance and projects in a wide variety of formats, presenting the relationships that the body builds with space, time and the audience through movement. For its 25^th edition, the Festival presented two pieces of work, «Sing the Positions» and «One One One» by Cie Ioannis Mandafounis. In «Sing the Positions», Ioannis Mandafounis and Manon Parent offer the unique fusion of a dance performance and concert. Using their tools as improvisers, dancers and musicians, the duo presents dance creations and live music emerging from the dynamics of interaction between them. «One One One» evokes an even more specific relationship with the audience. The artists invite those watching to make eye contact with them and, based on this interaction, translate their emotions into a form of dance.
