Rimini Protokoll (Berlin) & SonidoCiudad (Santiago) «AppRecuerdos» at the Festival Internacional Santiago a Mil 2017

Rimini Protokoll, a company founded in 2000 by Helgard Kim, Stefan Kaegi and Daniel Wetzel, does research into new perspectives to perceive reality through theatre, film and installations. SonidoCiudad is a collective made up by Mauricio Barría, M. Verónica Troncoso and Gonzalo Dalgalarrando. Both united to develop the project «AppRecuerdos», with support from Goethe Institut.

«AppRecuerdos» is an audio-journey through the centre of Santiago, the app with 129 audio tracks must be downloaded and then it can be played in over 100 historic sites, activated by geolocation. The App was launched at the Festival Internacional Santiago a Mil 2017, following the compilation of interviews done jointly by SonidoCiudad and Rimini Protokoll. The audio tracks relate stories from the 70s and 80s, describing, in the first the person, events where they took place, including the political and personal issues framed in the historic context of the time. These stories include original audio files from those years, from the radio and other media. There were also several «AppRecuerdos» guided tours in different contexts such as the celebrations on Women´s Day and Heritage Day in Chile throughout 2017.
