About TRANSFER

TRANSFER Global Architecture Platform is an independent digital editorial project, based on the production and transmission of original, high-quality architectural content of public interest. By connecting innovative ideas and practices worldwide, TRANSFER aims to broaden the global culture of architecture and to become a reference in the generation of architectural knowledge. Based in Switzerland, TRANSFER is edited by a team with extensive editorial, academic and building experience, and relies on an strong network of contributors worldwide.

Thanks to a preliminary research trip in South America, the team of TRANSFER will be able to start the creation of the network by meeting the actors involved in the different countries and disciplines such as design, architecture, and film-making in order to involve them in the starting phase of the project. The end result idea is to organize an architectural public event – a symposium and an exhibition – in South America in the Spring 2020. The content would be focusing on the role of video in being able to communicate around architecture. The symposium would address matters such as how the former dichotomy between the countryside and the metropolis is leading through an increasing interdependency. Large territorial mutations linked to migrations, resources extraction and agricultural shifts are transforming at the same time the city and the countryside. TRANSFER’s project aims to analyze the Swiss and South American contemporary territorial transformations linked both with global and local dynamics, and to discuss the architectural and urban strategies related with them.
